We are all looking to improve our businesses and our incomes to be more successful, yet very few of us are prepared to do anything about it. Progress and success are as predictable as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. There are literally thousands upon thousands of people who have been successful before us and it’s just a matter of a moulding ourselves on those people and mimicking what they’ve done and how they’ve done it.
Obviously, this takes a lot of study, a lot of effort, and a lot of training in progressing. So, I’ve compiled a list of the three main areas where you can supercharge your business and supercharge your success and income.
The first one is Education.
As a real estate agent and now as a coach, I am constantly looking to educate myself on how to build a real estate business, how to win business, how to create a funnel, how to create a multi-layered prospecting system, how to handle sellers, how to handle buyers, how to close, how to present different strategies, how to vendor manage, and how to create customers for life.
It’s really important to, first of all, understand that the very first step in growth of any kind is your education.
The second one, and probably the most important, is Coaching.
I found that after educating myself by reading a lot of books and listening to a lot of audio-tapes, I was moving further and further ahead of my competitors and especially the other people in my office due to that fact that I now had a tremendous amount of knowledge. But it was when I was trying to transfer that knowledge into a skill that I encountered a challenge.
This was when I decided to take on a coach. It was only then that I was able to fast track my skill development and that was when things started to rapidly increase.
Previously, I struggled around the 350 to 400 thousand gross commission and as soon as I took on a coach, that very next year I went to 750 – 800 thousand. Every time I’ve had a coach, that type of progress has happened!
The great thing about having a coach is that you’re not only learning from them and their years worth of skill, knowledge, experience, and success, but you’re learning about all their coaching and training that they’ve had.
The final one, which is really important, but makes a tremendous amount of sense, is your sphere of influence.
These are the people that you hang around with, the people that you benchmark yourself on, the people that you spend most of your business and personal time with. These people have a huge influence on your success. They say that if you want to figure out what you earn, take the five people you spend the majority of your time with, take their income, add them all up and divide them by five, that’s really what your income should represent.
If that is a rule of thumb, then it’s very easy to just start hanging around with and associating with people who have very high incomes, which should directly translate to you earning more money.
These are the three main contributors to business growth. First, you need to build your knowledge, you then need to combine that knowledge with the skill through the use of a coach, and finally, you need to hang around people who will inspire you and help you grow.
