Don’t Throw the Baby Out With the Bath Water

I wanted to share a simple but powerful idea that applies to business, relationships, creativity, and life in general:

Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water” means don’t discard something valuable just because it comes with problems or imperfections.

Too often people quit good projects, relationships, or goals simply because the first attempt didn’t go perfectly. But most worthwhile things start rough:

  • Businesses need time,
  • Skills require practice,
  • Ideas improve through trial and error.

Instead of giving up completely, keep what works and improve what doesn’t.

How to avoid the mistake:

  • Identify what’s still valuable.
  • Fix the weak parts instead of scrapping everything.
  • Run small experiments before making dramatic decisions.
  • Give ideas enough time to develop.
  • Salvage what works and improve what doesn’t.

Of course, truly toxic situations should be left behind — but if something is simply unfinished or imperfect, don’t panic and quit.

Fix the drain — not the kid.

Here’s to your success,
